These exercises were an exploration into shape. How to create shape, composition with shape, studying the weight and balance of shape and tryin to create variety with shape.

These pieces were created with acrylic paint, collage, acrylic marker and graphite.

  • Shapes can run off the edges of the page
  • Larger solid shapes can be balanced with smaller shapes for contrast
  • Repeating shapes
  • Shapes can be made with edges or outlines
  • Black can be used sparingly to create interest
