About this Gallery

This gallery displays the exercises used to explore color and design. Starting with one color and only the element of stripes, the objective was to create a composition and learn the impact of value, color and saturation can have on design.

These studies were done with acrylic paint on paper.

  • Endless variations could be achieved within only one color
  • Darker or more saturated hues could be used in small amounts and still create impact
  • Repetition of size or color can be combined to create larger elements.
  • Variety creates interest
