About this Gallery

These bird studies were a bridge from being a textile artist to a visual artist. Moving away from my large studio I needed a medium that was small and portable. I’ve always had a love for birds and chose to work in a small format on paper.  I found great joy with these simple studies and was grateful to have a hand back in my creative process.

This work consists of watercolor pencil on paper or Sumi ink on Yupo paper.

  • Small format – largest piece 11” x 14”.
  • It served as a way to re-introduce myself to a creative practice.
